Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Physiotherapist Assistant to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for working alongside the physiotherapists and implementing exercise programs and assisting with the set up of modalities. There are also admin and cleaning duties. This role requires excellent communication skills, strong organizational abilities, and a thorough understanding of medical terminology and patient care practices. The physiotherapist assistant will work closely with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality care across various patient populations, including acute care and pediatrics.

Duties

Implement individualized treatment plans based on patient evaluations
Assist patients with exercises and therapeutic activities to restore mobility and function
Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment strategies accordingly
Maintain accurate case management documentation using Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
Collaborate with healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care plans
Educate patients and their families on injury prevention and health maintenance strategies
Manage multiple cases efficiently through effective time management and organizational skills
Utilize mechanical knowledge when operating or troubleshooting therapy equipment
Document all patient interactions thoroughly, ensuring compliance with medical terminology standards
Participate in ongoing professional development activities to stay current with industry best practices

Requirements

Proven experience in hospital settings, pediatrics, or acute care environments preferred
Strong knowledge of medical terminology, case management, and patient care protocols
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written; multilingual or bilingual (especially French) skills are a plus
Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Word processing software for documentation purposes
Ability to demonstrate mechanical knowledge related to therapy equipment operation and troubleshooting
Solid organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple cases efficiently
Effective time management skills to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced healthcare setting
Analysis skills for evaluating patient progress and modifying treatment plans accordingly
Experience or familiarity with nursing practices is advantageous
Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team while maintaining patient confidentiality

Pay: $21.00-$23.00 per hour
