We are seeking an experienced Section 12 Approved Doctor to undertake Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards (DoLS) Form 4 assessments, including Mental Capacity Assessments, for adults in care homes and hospital settings.

This role is ideal for a doctor looking for flexible, autonomous work with a focus on high-quality, lawful decision-making and safeguarding.

Key Responsibilities:

Complete DoLS Form 4 medical assessments
Carry out and clearly document Mental Capacity Assessments
Assess eligibility criteria for DoLS authorisations
Liaise professionally with Best Interests Assessors, care providers, and local authorities
Produce clear, timely, and legally robust reports
Work in line with the Mental Capacity Act (2005) and current guidance

Essential Requirements:

GMC registered medical practitioner
Current Section 12(2) approval
Sound knowledge of the Mental Capacity Act and DoLS framework
Strong assessment, documentation, and report-writing skills
Ability to work independently and manage own caseload
Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle
