Job Summary / Main PurposeThe Pharmacy Line Manager will lead, influence, and develop the pharmacy team to achieve agreed business objectives, market share, and service excellence while ensuring full compliance with pharmaceutical regulations, company policies, and professional ethics. The role balances commercial performance with high standards of pharmacy practice, patient safety, and regulatory adherence.
Main Responsibilities
Develops a productive and compliant pharmacy workplace environment.
Shapes team vision aligned with company strategy and pharmacy professional standards and mobilizes the team toward achieving goals.
Meets or exceeds agreed business and service targets within approved budgets, timelines, and resources (sales volume, market share, sales growth, market expenses, free medical samples, and human capital investment).
Ensures full compliance with local health authority regulations, pharmacy laws, and company SOPs.
Oversees proper dispensing practices and ensures adherence to patient safety and professional pharmacy standards.
Ensures proper storage, handling, and distribution of pharmaceutical products in line with GDP/GSP requirements.
Monitors and governs the management of controlled and sensitive medications where applicable.
Responsible for the combined performance of the team and ensures all team members achieve their targets.
Attracts, develops, and retains qualified pharmacy/MIO talent.
Coaches and develops team members’ technical, commercial, and compliance capabilities.
Responsible for supervising, motivating, and monitoring team performance.
Conducts quarterly performance reviews for direct reports, including performance development plans.
Conducts annual performance appraisal reports for direct reports.
Works closely with KOLs and healthcare stakeholders to build strategic partnerships for mutual benefit.
Prepares monthly cycle plans including team visit plans, promotional messages, promotional tools, and customer-centric activities.
Ensures the team executes high-quality and compliant customer engagements across the assigned territory.
Works closely with Marketing and support teams to develop and execute sales tactics, tools, and promotional materials in compliance with regulations.
Ensures country tactics are aligned with the core brand strategy provided by the Marketing department.
Manages record systems including daily reports, customer profiles, compliance documentation, and marketing feedback reports.
Stays abreast of market, regulatory, and competitor dynamics and provides regular feedback to management.
Remains informed about healthcare and pharmacy practice developments within the assigned area.
Attends company meetings as per direct manager instruction.
Submits weekly and monthly reports to the direct manager as per country reporting system.
Drives ongoing identification of new business opportunities within compliance boundaries.
Ensures effective cross-functional communication to maximize line achievement.
Builds required team capabilities in coordination with the direct coach.
Requirements (Knowledge, Skills & Attributes)
Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy (mandatory).
Valid pharmacist license (preferred/where applicable).
Minimum 5 years’ experience in the pharmaceutical/pharmacy field, including team leadership exposure.
Strong knowledge of local pharmacy regulations and compliance requirements.
English and Arabic language proficiency is required.
