The Opportunity
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Pharmacist to oversee operations within a highly specialized facility featuring a state-of-the-art compounding laboratory dedicated to the preparation of high-cost medications and specialty pharmaceuticals. This location is not open to the public; it operates exclusively as a high-volume drug preparation and production site.
This is a full-time, permanent position with consistent hours of Monday to Friday, 1pm to 9pm, with no weekend requirements.

Position Description
The Pharmacist is responsible for overseeing and verifying the preparation of compounded medications. This role focuses on quality assurance, regulatory compliance, and final product verification, ensuring all formulations meet established standards prior to batch release.
- Review and verify master formulation records, batch records, and compounding documentation for accuracy and completeness.
- Check and validate ingredient weights, calculations, and measurements to ensure precision and compliance with formulations.
- Perform final verification and authorize batch release in accordance with regulatory and internal quality standards.
- Ensure compliance with provincial regulatory requirements, USP guidelines (where applicable), and company SOPs.
- Oversee proper documentation, record retention, and audit readiness.
- Monitor environmental controls and ensure compounding conditions meet required sterility and safety standards.
- Investigate and document deviations, discrepancies, or out-of-specification results, implementing corrective actions as needed.
- Collaborate with technicians and compounding staff to maintain workflow efficiency while upholding strict quality standards.
- Participate in continuous quality improvement initiatives and process optimization.
- Provide professional oversight and ensure all operations align with patient safety and best pharmacy practices.
Experience
- 2+ years of experience as a Pharmacist
- Compounding, manufacturing, or hospital experience an asset
- Experience reviewing batch records, formulation worksheets, and verifying calculations and ingredient weights
- Experience working in a high-volume, process-driven environment with strict SOP adherence an asset
- Experience supervising or providing professional oversight to technicians or support staff as asset
Qualifications
- Registered Part A Pharmacists in good standing with the Ontario College of Pharmacists (OCP)
- Authorized to practice pharmacy in Ontario without restrictions or conditions
- Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy (BScPhm) or Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) from an accredited institution
- Compounding certification or documented training in sterile and/or non-sterile compounding is an asset
Education
Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy (BScPhm) or Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) from an accredited institution.
