Flynn Medical Centre is looking to recruit a Practice Nurse to join as an integral member of our team. We are a hard working, dynamic team working within the community of Shannon delivering all elements of primary care as well as occupational healthcare to many companies in Shannon.
Our team comprises of 2 male and a female GP, a GP trainee as well as a nurse, practice manager and 2 secretaries. We are a training centre for the Mid West GP Training scheme and undergraduate GP students from NUI, Galway. We are looking to hire an enthusiastic and dedicated nurse to spear head a number of clinical programmes at the surgery including Chronic Disease Management, vaccination programmes and cervical screening amongst others.
General duties required of the Practice Nurse include:
- Chronic Disease Management
- Childhood vaccinations and other vaccination administration
- Management of vaccination clinics
- Cervical screening programme
- Phlebotomy and management of investigation results
- ECG
- 24 HR abpm
- Dressings
- Suture and staple removal
- +/- Ante Natal Care
- Managment of clinical stock
Salary will depend on experience to date. There is some flexibility on working hours/days. Previous experience in general practice preferred but not essential. Training and further education is supported.
