Job description
Field & Sample Prep: Collect representative soil, manure, and plant samples from the field; dry, grind, and sieve samples for analytical readiness.
Analytical Testing: Conduct routine physical, chemical and microbiological assays on samples.
Equipment Care: Calibrate, operate, and maintain lab instruments (e.g., Spectrophotometers, pH meters) ensuring strict cleanliness.
Reporting: Maintain detailed laboratory registers and prepare accurate analytical reports for farm management.
Input Monitoring: Assist in tracking and applying organic and biodynamic preparations (e.g., CPP, BD 500) according to the farm calendar.
Safety & Compliance: Strictly follow protocols for chemical handling, bio-hazard safety, and hazardous waste disposal.
Requirements
Education: A Bachelor’s Degree in Biochemistry, Microbiology, Biotechnology, Botany, or Environmental Science. Postgraduate candidates are encouraged to apply and will be given due consideration. A Degree or Diploma in Organic Farming is desirable and will be strongly considered for this role.
Technical Skills: Proficiency in wet chemistry, titration, and basic microbiology.
