Role Overview
We are hiring a Sports Physiotherapist to work with international-level Kayaking & Canoeing athletes representing India at the Asian Games 2026. This is a high-responsibility, high-exposure role for someone who wants to work closely with elite athletes in a fully immersive training environment. You will be the primary physiotherapist on-site, responsible for injury management, recovery, and supporting performance conditioning, along with assess, diagnose athletes for injury prevention.
Responsibilities include developing tailored rehabilitation plans, providing injury prevention strategies, conducting physical therapy sessions, and collaborating with coaches to optimize athlete performance. The role requires maintaining detailed records of treatment plans and progress, along with staying updated on the latest advancements in sports physiotherapy.
- This is not a clinic-based role.
- This is a live-in, field-intensive assignment.
Key Responsibilities
Injury Management & Rehabilitation
- Assess, diagnose, and manage sports-related injuries
- Design and implement rehabilitation protocols for athletes
- Monitor recovery progress and adjust treatment plans accordingly
Performance & Recovery Support
- Support performance conditioning alongside training schedules
- Implement recovery protocols including mobility work, taping, ice baths, and muscle recovery strategies
- Work closely with athletes to optimize readiness and physical resilience
On-ground Athlete Support
- Provide daily, on-site physiotherapy support to a group of ~30 athletes
- Be available throughout the training day for injury prevention and immediate intervention
- Maintain documentation of injuries, recovery progress, and treatment plans
Independent Role Execution
- Operate as the primary physiotherapist on-site, managing responsibilities independently
- Coordinate with coaches and support staff when required
Role Requirements
- MPT (Master of Physiotherapy) preferred
- Prior experience in sports physiotherapy or athlete management
- Strong understanding of injury rehab, mobility, and recovery protocols
- Ability to handle high-performance athletes in a demanding training environment
- Comfortable working independently with full ownership
Mandatory Conditions
- Must be based in Uttarakhand
- Must be available to stay at the academy from April to October 2026
- Willingness to work in a fully residential, on-ground sports environment
