Position Overview
The Private Duty Nurse provides one‑on‑one, client‑centered nursing care within a private home or community environment. This role requires a high level of clinical competence, professionalism, confidentiality, and the ability to work independently while upholding the highest standards of safety and compassionate care.
The nurse is responsible for delivering individualized care plans, monitoring client health status, administering treatments, and ensuring the client’s physical, emotional, and psychosocial needs are met.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care based on the client’s individualized care plan.
- Monitor cognitive status, neurological changes, and stroke‑related risk factors.
- Administer medications accurately and maintain detailed documentation.
- Support activities of daily living while promoting dignity and independence.
- Implement fall‑prevention, safety, and dementia‑care strategies.
- Provide vital signs monitoring, head to toe assessment and other nursing procedures as required such as IV infusion, blood sugar monitoring, catheterization
- Assist in physio exercise
- Communicate effectively with family, caregivers, and the healthcare team.
- Maintain strict confidentiality and uphold professional boundaries at all times.
Requirements
- Must hold a valid Registered Nurse (RN) license with a 3-5 years of nursing experience
- Experience in acute care or senior care environments is strongly preferred.
- Demonstrated competency in Dementia Care and Stroke Care is required.
- IV infusion and catheterization competency is required; additional nursing technical skills are considered an asset.
- Proven proficiency in medication administration and patient care management.
- Ability to collaborate effectively within an interdisciplinary team.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated commitment to compassionate care and positive patient outcomes.
- A valid driver’s license and the ability to drive are required.

Pay: From $50.00 per hour
