Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Nursing role based in Chennai. The nurse will provide high-quality patient care, including vitals monitoring, at-home blood tests, minor treatments, wound care, rapid infection testing, and support for chronic disease management. Responsibilities include accurately documenting patient histories, interventions, and outcomes, coordinating with physicians for care plans and e-prescriptions, and ensuring adherence to clinical protocols and safety standards. The role involves educating patients and families on treatment plans, medications, and preventive care, while maintaining strict confidentiality and privacy in line with regulatory requirements. Nurses will also collaborate with the broader GIRAH team to improve workflows, support operational efficiency, and deliver a seamless, patient-centered care experience.
Qualifications
- Current nursing license/registration (e.g., B.Sc Nursing or GNM) with recognized nursing council and a strong foundation in clinical nursing practice.
- Demonstrated experience in patient assessment, basic diagnostics (vitals, blood draws, rapid tests), wound care, and minor procedures.
- Strong patient communication and counseling skills, with the ability to explain treatments, medications, and self-care clearly and respectfully.
- Comfort using mobile apps and digital tools for documentation, coordination with physicians, and accessing electronic health information.
- Proven ability to follow protocols, maintain accurate records, and uphold infection control, privacy, and safety standards.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, patient-centric environment, with strong time management, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.
- Willingness to work in shifts, including evenings or weekends as needed, and to travel locally for patient visits if required.
- Prior experience in home healthcare, community health, or primary care settings is an advantage; basic English communication skills and local language proficiency are highly beneficial.
