Senior Physiotherapist – MSK
The Senior MSK Physiotherapist will provide specialist assessment, treatment, and rehabilitation services to patients attending the Fracture Unit, Orthopaedic Clinics, Injury Unit, and associated outpatient services. The post holder will lead the delivery of evidence-based musculoskeletal physiotherapy for patients with fractures, trauma-related injuries, post-operative orthopaedic conditions, and complex MSK presentations. This is an agency position based in Co Louth
Responsibilities of Senior Physiotherapist – MSK
- Develop and implement individualised rehabilitation programmes.
- Deliver specialist fracture rehabilitation
- Participate in fracture clinic services and multidisciplinary case discussions.
- Identify patients requiring urgent escalation or consultant review.
- Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation in accordance with HSE and CORU standards.
- Ensure evidence-based practice is maintained within all aspects of service delivery.
- Act as a clinical resource for physiotherapy colleagues and multidisciplinary team members.
- Support service development initiatives within the Fracture Unit.
- Participate in policy development, clinical audits, and quality improvement projects.
- Contribute to service planning and performance monitoring.
- Participate in clinical audits and outcome measurement programmes.
- Contribute to research initiatives relevant to orthopaedic and musculoskeletal physiotherapy.
- Implement evidence-based recommendations into clinical practice.
Requirements of Senior Physiotherapist – MSK
- BSc (Hons) Physiotherapy or equivalent recognised qualification.
- Current registration with CORU.
- Minimum 3 years post-qualification physiotherapy experience.
- Significant experience in musculoskeletal and orthopaedic physiotherapy practice.
Ideal Experience
- Experience managing fracture rehabilitation patients.
- Experience within orthopaedic outpatient services.
