GP Practice Nurse required for Modern GP clinic - part time considered
- Chronic Disease Management: Assisting GPs with managing long-term conditions like asthma, COPD, diabetes, and cardiovascular diseases.
- Health Promotion & Screening: Running well-woman/man clinics, cervical smears, smoking cessation, and weight management.
- Vaccinations & Immunisations: Administering childhood immunisations, travel vaccines, and influenza vaccinations.
- Clinical Procedures: Phlebotomy (blood samples), ECGs, ear care, and cryotherapy.
- Wound Care: Managing acute and chronic wounds, including leg ulcers and removing stitches.
- Patient Consultations: Conducting in-person, telephone, or home visit consultations.
- Administrative/Professional: Maintaining accurate patient records, following clinical protocols, and often mentoring junior staff or healthcare assistants.
Requirements
- Active registration with the relevant nursing board (e.g., NMBI in Ireland, NMC in UK).
- Strong communication and clinical assessment skills.
