University Hospital Monklands (UHM) is looking to appoint a Specialty Doctor in Medicine for the Elderly to enhance its dynamic team, who have a significant track record in driving forward service change and quality improvement.
The Medicine for the Elderly department provides services across four dedicated inpatient wards at UHM and intermediate care facilities at four other sites across Lanarkshire - services which include outpatients, stroke, frailty assessment and hospital at home. The team work in tandem with General Medicine colleagues to provide daily input to medical receiving.
UHM is committed to providing an enjoyable and rewarding working experience, where there are excellent opportunities for service development within a department who are keen to support novel services; recent examples of which include Hospital at Home, Frailty Unit and the Tone Management Clinic. The prospect of a new UHM will continue to provide these opportunities. Sub specialty interest would be welcomed.
