Description:
As a Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) – Operating Room Technician, you will provide a wide-variety of nursing services to patients, families, communities and populations, while taking necessary steps to ensure their safety and well-being. In your role, you will utilize nursing processes, through critical thinking, problem solving and decision making, as well as teach, counsel and advocate on behalf of patients and their families. You will provide safe and quality patient centered care.

Shifts: Monday to Friday, days and hours vary.
Responsibilities and Duties:
· Initiate pre-operative assessment of the surgical patient.
· Assist anesthetist with induction.
· Follow and maintain all the relevant federal, provincial, professional and facility
regulations, standards, guidelines, policies and procedures in the provision of surgical
and anesthetic services
· Train and orient new operating room personnel
· Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned
· Demonstrate the ability to function to the full scope of nursing practice
· Demonstrate clinical competence in the scrub and circulator roles.
Required Qualifications:
· Completion of an accredited nursing education program
· Registered and in good standing with CARNA or CLPNA
· Current BCLS-HCP
· Certified in perioperative nursing
· Recent experience in an operating room acute care covering a variety of surgical services
Conditions of Employment:
- Successful candidate(s) will be required to provide a record of their immunization status or will be required to submit to immunization screening as per AHS Immunization Policy
- Successful candidate(s) will be required to provide a certificate of current BCLS and CARNA
