Legal Nursing Assistant / Clinical Records Reviewer (Part-Time, Minimum 15 Hours per Week)
About the Role
We are seeking a highly experienced, clinically qualified professional to support a Legal Nurse Consultant in reviewing and analysing medical records for medico-legal cases.
This is a flexible part-time role with aminimum of 15 hours per week, with hours scheduled based on case workload. Hybrid working is available following initial training.
This position is ideal for a Registered Nurse with extensive Irish healthcare experience who can provide reliable, accurate, and independent clinical review.
Key Responsibilities
- Reviewing and organising medical records
- Creating clear, accurate medical chronologies
- Identifying missing records or inconsistencies
- Summarising clinical events in structured formats
- Assisting with case file preparation
- Maintaining strict confidentiality and GDPR compliance
- Using Microsoft Office and case management systems effectively
Essential Requirements
- Registered Nurse with a current NMBI PIN
- Minimum 10 years’ post-qualification experience in the Irish healthcare system
- Strong understanding of medical terminology and documentation
- Excellent written English
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Strong IT skills (Microsoft Word, Excel, PDF handling, digital file organisation)
- Ability to work independently and reliably once hours are agreed
Desirable
- Previous medico-legal experience
- Experience preparing chronologies
- Knowledge of GDPR and data protection requirements
- Experience working remotely
Working Arrangements
- Minimum 15 hours per week, scheduled based on case workload
- Hours are agreed in advance with the Employer; once confirmed, they should be honoured except in circumstances such as illness or unexpected emergencies
- Hybrid working available after initial training period
- Initial training will be provided
Job Types: Part-time, Fixed term
Contract length: 6 months
Pay: Up to €19,500.00 per year
