Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site position for a Duty Doctor at St. Ignatius Hospital, located in Honavar. The Duty Doctor will be responsible for providing medical care to patients, coordinating with consultants and other healthcare professionals, monitoring patient progress, managing emergencies, and ensuring the smooth functioning of the inpatient and outpatient units. Additional tasks may include documenting medical records accurately and guiding junior medical staff as needed. Maintaining effective communication with patients and their families to ensure compassionate care will also be integral to this role.
Qualifications
- Proficiency in diagnosing and treating medical conditions, with sound clinical acumen and experience in managing emergencies.
- Excellent patient communication and interpersonal skills to provide compassionate care and effective patient education.
- Team collaboration and leadership skills to work closely with consultants, nurses, and other healthcare professionals.
- Accurate medical documentation and record-keeping abilities.
- MBBS degree from a recognized university and registration with the relevant medical council.
- Post-graduation in a medical specialty or relevant experience is an added advantage.
- Fluency in local languages, in addition to proficiency in English, is highly desirable.
