Drumbear Lodge Nursing Home is seeking an experienced and compassionate Clinical Nurse Manager (CNM) to join our senior leadership team.
This is an excellent opportunity for an established CNM or a Senior Staff Nurse ready to step into a leadership role, gaining valuable management experience within a supportive and well-structured nursing home.
The Role
Reporting to the Director of Nursing (DON) and Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON), the Clinical Nurse Manager will provide strong clinical leadership and oversee the day-to-day clinical operations of the home during the maternity leave period.
You will work closely with the DON/ADON as part of the senior management team and deputise for the ADON when required.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead nursing staff in delivering high-quality, person-centred care
- Promote and maintain the highest standards of clinical and professional practice
- Ensure compliance with HIQA regulations, NMBI guidelines, and internal policies
- Oversee medication management in line with best practice
- Support, mentor, and supervise nursing and care staff
- Ensure appropriate induction, training, and ongoing development of staff
- Review and audit nursing documentation and clinical practices
- Participate in handovers and manage clinical and operational issues
- Prepare and manage staff rosters in line with agreed staffing levels
- Liaise with multidisciplinary teams, residents, and families
- Manage complaints and ensure appropriate documentation and follow-up
- Foster a positive, professional, and collaborative team culture
What We’re Looking For
- Registered Nurse on the Irish Live Register (NMBI) with an active PIN
- Experience in a senior nursing or leadership role (CNM, Senior Staff Nurse, or similar)
- Strong leadership, organisational, and communication skills
- Sound clinical judgement and decision-making ability
- A genuine passion for caring for older people
- Ability to work confidently as part of a senior management team
