Seeking nurses, or other healthcare practitioners with relevant experience, for two positions, providing care to a married senior couple, in their home in the Comox Valley.

We are two daughters seeking specialised care for our parents. We are looking for experienced nurses. Your current licensing status is less relevant to us than your education, experience, and suitability. If you trained in another jurisdiction and are not yet licensed in B.C., we welcome your application.
We are seeking applicants who can provide expert care to our parents while building relationships of trust with our family.
If you can take an intuitive approach to care that is informed by expertise and compassion for medically complex seniors, we want to hear from you.
We need someone to guide our established daytime care team, who understands the burdens of family caregiving and will support us as unpaid family caregivers living in the home. We anticipate this position to be about 20 hours a week, and we will work around your availability.
Success in this position will require confidence, independence, and excellent judgement.
We also need someone who can work casual hours and provide relief as needed when our regular staff are absent or during times of increased need. Casual hours are available day or night, weekdays and weekends.
We will do our best to accommodate the availability and shift preferences of successful applicants.
Our primary goal is to let our parents age in place and avoid institutional care, in spite of increasing medical vulnerability. We tried long term care. It did not work for either parent.
Specific skills and knowledge that are relevant to the positions include; phlebotomy, wound care and malignancies, incontinence care, autoimmune disease, Parkinsonism, dementia, celiac disease, hypothyroidism, presumptive COPD, reduced mobility and transfers, cardiac care and chronic inflammation.
Both our parents require full assistance with activities of daily living. Our parents each have unique needs and health challenges.
Successful candidates must be physically capable of transfers.
These positions are funded. We are a WorkSafeBC compliant employer. Full extended health care benefit package is available after probationary period and with a minimum 20 hour a week commitment.
A criminal background check is required for all positions.
Rates of remuneration will be commensurate with education and experience. We are competitive with standard rates for similar private positions in the Comox Valley.
Hourly pay will be no less than $32.00 and we are prepared to offer more to the candidate with the experience and training we need.
