Severn Hospice is a centre of excellence for specialist palliative and end-of-life care, serving communities across Shropshire, Telford & Wrekin and Mid Wales. We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Specialty and Specialist Doctor to join our dedicated clinical team, primarily based at our Inpatient Unit in Telford.
This is a rare opportunity to become part of a dynamic and forward-thinking hospice, where you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality, patient-centred palliative care.
Here at the hospice, we have time to care and as part of a multidisciplinary team of doctors, consultants, nurses and health professionals, you will be responsible for the medical management of patients. This will include the admission, assessment and ongoing review of patients with complex palliative care needs, ensuring the highest standards of clinical care are consistently maintained.
Compassionate care is at the heart of everything we do and we have a holistic approach, supporting not only physical needs but also emotional, social and spiritual wellbeing of patient and their families and carers. You will work closely with GPs, hospital consultants, community nursing teams and other partner agencies to ensure joined-up, compassionate care.
You will also be part of the non-resident on-call rota and provide cover at our Shrewsbury hospice covering annual leave as required.
We are committed to excellence, innovation and continuous improvement and alongside your clinical work, you will contribute to service development and the ongoing advancement of our palliative services. This includes involvement in clinical audits and quality improvement initiatives.
