Role Overview We are looking for a skilled and detail-oriented Lab Technician to join our Pathology & Diagnostics team. The ideal candidate has solid hands-on experience in clinical laboratory operations across routine and emergency diagnostic testing, and is comfortable working in a rotational shift environment including nights and weekends.
Key Responsibilities
- Collect blood, urine, stool, sputum, and other biological samples from patients as per standard protocols
- Perform routine and specialized laboratory investigations including:
- Haematology — CBC, ESR, bleeding/clotting time
- Biochemistry — blood glucose, LFT, KFT, lipid profile, electrolytes
- Microbiology — culture & sensitivity, gram staining, urine culture
- Serology — HIV, HBsAg, Widal, CRP, Dengue, Typhoid
- Urinalysis & Stool examination
- Operate, calibrate, and maintain laboratory instruments and analyzers
- Ensure accurate and timely reporting of all test results into the Lab Information System (LIS)
- Follow strict quality control (QC) procedures and maintain lab accuracy standards
- Adhere to biosafety protocols, infection control standards, and waste disposal guidelines
- Coordinate with ward nurses, doctors, and OPD for urgent/STAT sample processing
- Maintain proper records of reagent stock, consumables, and raise indent requests timely
- Participate in internal and external quality assurance programs (EQAS/IQAS)
- Support accreditation processes such as NABL/NABH documentation as required
Qualifications
- B.Sc Medical Laboratory Technology (MLT) / DMLT (Diploma in Medical Laboratory Technology)
- Registered with the relevant state paramedical board — preferred
- B.Sc MLT candidates will be given preference
Experience
- Minimum 2 years of hands-on experience in a hospital or diagnostic laboratory
- Experience in multispecialty hospital lab preferred
Skills Required
- Proficiency in operating automated analyzers, centrifuges, microscopes, and related lab equipment
- Sound knowledge of laboratory investigation procedures and reference ranges
- Familiarity with Lab Information Systems (LIS) and basic computer skills
- High accuracy, attention to detail, and commitment to TAT (Turnaround Time)
- Ability to work independently during night and emergency shifts
- Good communication skills in Telugu and/or English
