An Teaghlach Uilinn is seeking a dedicated and experienced Director of Nursing (DON) to lead our team and ensure the delivery of high-quality, person-centred care to our residents.

About the Role
The Director of Nursing will have overall responsibility for the management and operation of the nursing home, ensuring compliance with HIQA standards and all relevant regulations. The successful candidate will lead the clinical team, promote a culture of continuous improvement, and ensure the highest standards of care and safety are maintained.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide strong leadership and management to the nursing and care team
- Ensure full compliance with HIQA standards, regulations, and best practice guidelines
- Act as Person in Charge (PIC) for the centre
- Oversee clinical governance, risk management, and quality improvement initiatives
- Manage staffing, rosters, and workforce planning
- Promote a person-centred approach to care
- Maintain effective communication with residents, families, and stakeholders
- Lead audits, inspections, and regulatory submissions
- Foster a positive and supportive working environment
Essential Requirements
- Registered General Nurse with active registration on the NMBI register
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a senior nursing management role
- Proven experience as a Person in Charge (PIC) and/or Director of Nursing (DON) in a similar residential care setting
- Strong knowledge of HIQA standards and regulatory requirements
- Demonstrated leadership, organisational, and communication skills
- Commitment to delivering high-quality, resident-focused care
