Job Description
Zapphir is recruiting experienced Registered Nurses (RN) and Licensed Practical Nurses (LPN) to support primary health care relief assignments in remote Yukon communities. These placements support remote and underserved communities where nurses are expected to work with a high degree of independence, strong clinical judgment, and adaptability.
Assignments are typically short-term contract deployments, generally ranging from 2 to 8 weeks, depending on operational needs. Travel and accommodation support will be provided for eligible assignments.
These assignments are provided on an as-needed call-up basis. You may be placed in community health centres across Yukon, supporting continuity of care where relief coverage is needed.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Provide primary care nursing services in remote and northern community health centres
- Work within an expanded scope of practice in outpost and remote clinical settings
- Support patients with a wide range of health needs with confidence and sound clinical judgment
- Work respectfully and effectively with Indigenous communities and diverse patient populations
- Collaborate with local supervisors, care teams, and health system partners
- Follow site-specific policies, procedures, privacy requirements, and training expectations
- Be ready to travel for assignments and work in communities with variable weather and clinical demands
What We’re Looking For
- Current RN or NP registration in Canada
- Eligibility for registration and good standing requirements with the Yukon Registered Nurses Association (YRNA)
- Strong experience working in expanded scope practice, especially in remote northern health centres
- Experience working in Northern Ontario, Northern Manitoba, Nunavut, Northwest Territories, or Yukon Territory is strongly preferred
- Experience working in outpost health centres and with Indigenous populations
- Current BLS
- Current ACLS
- Current TNCC or ITLS
- Clear Vulnerable Sector Check
- Valid Canadian driver’s licence
