Reporting to: Direct – Ward Incharges (All activities) Indirect - Manager Nursing
Key result areas: To get trained in BLS/ ACLS Organizing workloads. Training planner completion. Assess and identify the nursing requirement of every patient and assign roles for all nursing staff. To run the assigned ward by educating, planning and implementing the process and its functions.
Qualification: A Degree/Diploma in nursing with experience more than 4 years. RN & RM valid registration in Karnataka Nursing Council in nursing as well as midwifery
Knowledge: Kannada and English Language knowledge is mandatory Anatomy and physiology of Genito urinary system on basis of nursing. All ward procedures of Nephrology, Urology basic nursing. BLS/ACLS Basic computer knowledge and Operation of Hospital information system Current infection control practices Basic knowledge in common diagnostic tests and procedures in our hospital. Hospital policies and protocols.
Skills: To perform Phlebotomy Patient assessment. Skill to make decision and organize accordingly. Good and appropriate Communication with patients and internal team. Knowledge on common drugs Critical thinking Writing nursing care plan

- Assess the needs of the patients and prepare plan of nursing care. 2) MEWS Scoring. 3) Proper bedside handing over to be ensured in each shift and follow the same. 4) Shifting of patient to OT / Dialysis / Outside of hospital for diagnostic tests. 5) Demonstrate and carryout preoperative and post operative care of patients. 6) Demonstrate and carry out efficient nursing care, administration of drugs and treatment, observation and recording of vital parameters. 7) Attending rounds with medical personnel and assist in examination of patients and treatment. 8) Perform only privileged procedures and call for help in any need from the seniors/ward in-charge. 9) Handling of Isolation patient. 10) Hospital discharge of patients.
b) Knowledge: 1) Knowledge about safety net monitoring - MASIMO. 2) Knowledge about the how to collect RT PCR and Antigen Test. 3) Ensure that hospital attender is available with the patient and educate them about the infection control measures to be practiced. 4) Keeping the log book updated. 5) HMIS, QIKWELL, ESS Knowledge. 6) Knowledge about donning and doffing of PPE. 7) MSDS knowledge. 8) Spill Management. 9) Knowledge about hospital protocol and policy.
c) Maintaining Department documents: 1. Maintenance of patient records. 2. Indenting medication. 3. Daily check of emergency drugs and life saving equipments. 4. Properly packing and sending trays for autoclaving/ETO respectively. 5. Maintain cleanliness of ward, its annexes and environments. 6. Maintaining registers like ETO book, Laundry book, MRD/OPD book, Store Indent book, IV cannulation, Billing book, pharmacy refund book, discharge summary book etc. 7. Ensure that the billing sheets are updated, after each service & avoid errors. 8. If any death occurs in ward, fulfill the formalities and report it to ICU staff to maintain death register 9. Maintain inventory. 10. Sending the discharge patient Appointment list and doing follow up calls. 11. Follow-up calls.

- Read departmental E-mails daily and reply as per the need. 13. Updating CQI’s on a daily basis and have to ensure all work related to CQI is completed before 5th of every month. 14. Emergency codes. 15. Follow hospital policies and maintain the core values.
d)Reporting : 1. Report incidents in ward to the ward in charge and ICN. 2. Reporting of needle stick injuries.
Supervision: Ensure the cleanliness of ward, and functioning of all in ward and toilet Check the working condition of equipment. Maintaining ward inventory and check list. Nurses documentation, care plan, assessment and reassessment. Supervision of patient care by trainee staff nurse in the ward.
Participation: Attend unit meeting conducted by ward In-charges. Attend CNE/ workshops/ training programs. Accompany with doctors for ward rounds Conduct in service training for the ward staffs. Attend all required meeting of the hospital.
