Job Description
Role:
As an RN in the Critical Care Unit (CCU), you will provide specialized, high-acuity nursing care to critically ill patients requiring continuous monitoring and advanced medical support. You will work closely with physicians and a multidisciplinary healthcare team to deliver safe, evidence-based, and compassionate care in a fast-paced critical care environment.
Responsibilities:
- Provide direct patient care in accordance with established critical care standards, policies, and procedures.
- Perform comprehensive physical and hemodynamic assessments and develop individualized care plans.
- Continuously monitor cardiac rhythms, vital signs, and patient responses to treatment.
- Administer medications including IV infusions, vasoactive agents, and emergency drugs safely and accurately.
- Operate and monitor life-support and critical care equipment (cardiac monitors, ventilators, infusion pumps, defibrillators).
- Assist physicians with invasive and emergency procedures.
- Respond rapidly to clinical deterioration and participate in resuscitation and code management.
- Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to ensure coordinated, patient-centered care.
- Maintain accurate, timely documentation of assessments, interventions, and patient outcomes.
- Adhere strictly to infection control, safety, and quality improvement protocols.
- Provide education and emotional support to patients and families.
Requirements:
- 2-3 years of Critical Care Experience is mandatory
- Experience providing aeromedical care is an asset
- Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) certification
- Current Advanced Care Life Support (ACLS) certification
- Current Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)certification is an asset
- Current Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification is an asset
- Current Trauma Course (PHTLS or ITLS) is considered an asset
- Indigenous cultural awareness training is considered an asset
- Proof of current required vaccinations as per company policy
- Air Medical Crew (AMC) Candidates must successfully:
- Complete the company provided aeromedical training (CAMATA Level 1)
- Provide proof of a Current Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector
- Scan, Child Abuse Registry and Adult Abuse Registry
- Obtain and maintain Restricted Area Identity Card (RAIC)
- Possess and Maintain a Valid Driver’s License
- Possess and Maintain a Valid Canadian Passport
- Attain a Fit to Fly Form, completed by a recognized physician in Canada as required or directed by the Company.
Compensation:
$98,000 - $123,500 per year based on experience
