About the Role:
Join McKesson as an Infusion Nurse and provide compassionate, patient centered care for individuals receiving specialty therapies. In this role, you will support patients throughout their treatment journey, administering IV and injectable medications, monitoring safety, and educating patients to confidently manage their care. Your work directly improves patient outcomes while fostering a sense of care, meaning, and belonging for every patient you serve.
What You’ll Do
- Deliver safe infusion therapy
- Administer IV and injectable medications including biologics using best practices
- Initiate peripheral IV access and manage central lines with sterile technique
- Assess and monitor patients
- Conduct pre treatment assessments and confirm therapy eligibility
- Monitor during and after infusion, identifying and responding to adverse events
- Educate and empower patients
- Provide clear guidance on medications, side effects, and self administration
- Support adherence to treatment plans and promote patient independence
- Collaborate and document care
- Partner with physicians, pharmacists, and clinic teams for coordinated care
- Maintain accurate records in electronic medical records and clinical systems
- Support quality and compliance
- Participate in audits, safety standards, and infection prevention practices
- Assist with onboarding and mentoring new staff
Basic Requirements
- Registered Nurse (RN) in good standing with BCCNM
- Bachelor’s degree in Nursing or equivalent combination of education and experience
- 2+ years of nursing experience in infusion, ambulatory care, or specialty clinic settings
- Infusion certification or strong hands on IV experience
- Current CPR certification
- Experience with electronic medical records and clinical documentation tools
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with biologics, oncology, or specialty medications
- ACLS certification
- Experience managing infusion related reactions
- Strong clinical judgment, communication, and patient education skills
- Ability to work independently in a fast paced clinic environment
- Flexibility to support multiple clinic locations
Work Environment
- Onsite ambulatory clinic setting
- Regional travel may be required
- Physical activity includes standing, walking, and manual dexterity for IV procedures
