Role Summary
The Medical Officer is the senior clinical authority on board company’s Mobile Medical Unit (MMU)
bus. As the only qualified MBBS doctor deployed per district unit, this role carries full responsibility for
interpreting the results of a 44-parameter basic health screening, conducting OPD-style patient
consultations, and issuing prescriptions based on clinical findings and patient communication.
This is a meaningful front-line healthcare role — the doctor on the MMU is often the first qualified
medical professional many industrial labourers and underserved community members have seen in
months or years. The role demands not just clinical competence but empathy, speed, and the ability to
communicate clearly across language and literacy barriers.
Key Responsibilities
1. Clinical Interpretation — 44-Parameter Screening
• Review and interpret all 44 health parameters generated by the HealthATM terminal for each
patient
• Identify abnormal, borderline, or critical values and flag them for immediate clinical action
• Correlate multiple parameters to arrive at a holistic clinical picture — not just individual value
Distinguish between acute findings requiring immediate referral and chronic conditions
requiring management
• Ensure zero screening reports are signed off without proper clinical review
2. OPD Consultation & Patient Communication
• Conduct structured OPD-style consultations for every patient screened — listening,
examining, and advising
• Communicate findings clearly in Hindi and/or local dialect — most patients will be industrial
labourers with limited health literacy
• Explain diagnosis, risk factors, and recommended lifestyle or dietary changes in simple,
accessible language
• Address patient concerns, fears, and queries with patience and professionalism
• Maintain an average consultation pace to manage patient footfall without compromising
