Job Title: Person in Charge (PIC) / Clinical Nurse Manager
Location: Tullamore area, Co. Offaly.
Working hours: 9-5, Mon-Fri (On call as required)
Role Summary
Lotus Care provides a range of respite, residential and support service to Children & Adults with intellectual disabilities in a homely and comfortable community setting. We are seeking a compassionate and motivated Person in Charge (PIC) / Clinical Nurse Manager to join our residential social care team supporting individuals with intellectual disabilities. This role is ideal for a nurse with experience in, or a genuine interest in developing expertise within, intellectual disability (ID) services. But we will also consider newly qualified candidates with some management experience.The successful candidate will support 1 -2 residents with a range of health needs, including complex and chronic conditions, within a person-centred, residential setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality, person-centred nursing care to residents in line with best practice and regulatory standards
- Support individuals with intellectual disabilities in maintaining optimal health and wellbeing
- Manage and monitor chronic conditions
- Administer medications safely and in accordance with policy
- Work collaboratively with our multidisciplinary team (OT, SALT Behaviour Support, Play Therapist, Psychologist), families, and external healthcare providers
- Develop and implement individualised care plans and risk assessments
- Promote independence, dignity, and social inclusion for all residents
- Maintain accurate clinical records and documentation
- Participate in audits, quality improvement initiatives, and ongoing service development
Essential Criteria
- Registered General Nurse (RGN) or Registered Nurse Intellectual Disability (RNID) or Relevent Nursing qualification
- Must have current NMBI registration and eligibility to practice as a nurse in Ireland.
- Management qualification and experience
- Strong clinical skills and a commitment to high standards of care
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- A genuine interest in supporting individuals with intellectual disabilities
Desirable Criteria
- Experience working in intellectual disability or residential care settings
- Experience supporting individuals with acute and complex medical needs
