Detailed Job Description

Review prescriptions for correct dosage, frequency, route, duration, duplication, drug interactions, contraindications, allergies and patient-specific risks before dispensing or recommending clarification.
Dispense medicines accurately with clear labels and counsel patients on use, timing, storage, side effects, missed doses, warning signs and follow-up requirements.
Coordinate with doctors and nurses to clarify prescriptions, suggest appropriate alternatives where permitted, support medication reconciliation and reduce avoidable medication errors.
Maintain stock levels, expiry checks, cold-chain medicines, high-alert medicines, emergency medication availability, purchase requisitions and inventory records.
Support medication safety audits, adverse drug reaction reporting, antibiotic stewardship, controlled medicine documentation and pharmacy SOP compliance.
Prepare discharge medicines, outpatient medicine packs, day-care procedure medication support and patient education materials as required by the facility.
Maintain billing coordination, regulatory registers, pharmacy records, incident notes and documentation required for audits and internal reviews.
Follow facility rules, confidentiality expectations, local pharmacy practice requirements and employer policies for patient safety and professional conduct.
