Role Description The Pharmacist at Loblaw Companies Limited in Haliburton, ON and pharmacy manager at Kirkland Lake, ON is a full-time, on-site role responsible for providing safe, patient-centered pharmacy services. Day-to-day tasks include dispensing prescriptions accurately, reviewing medication profiles, and offering clinical advice and counseling to patients on proper use, side effects, and interactions. The Pharmacist will collaborate with pharmacy assistants and other store colleagues to maintain efficient workflow, ensure regulatory and company compliance, and uphold high standards of patient confidentiality and safety. The role also includes performing medication reviews, administering vaccines where permitted, supporting health and wellness programs, managing inventory, and contributing to a positive customer experience. The Pharmacist will participate in continuous quality improvement initiatives and stay current with professional and legislative requirements.
Qualifications
- Licensed or eligible for licensure as a Pharmacist in the province of Ontario, with good standing on the register.
- Strong clinical knowledge in pharmacotherapy, medication management, and patient counseling, with a commitment to evidence-based practice.
- Proficiency with pharmacy management systems, prescription processing software, and basic computer applications used in retail pharmacy settings.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with patients, caregivers, healthcare providers, and colleagues in a respectful, inclusive manner.
- Demonstrated attention to detail, sound judgment, and problem-solving skills to ensure accurate dispensing and safe medication use.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritize tasks, and collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
- Experience in community or retail pharmacy is an asset; familiarity with vaccination services and medication review programs is beneficial.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as required by store operations.
