Role Description This is a full-time, on-site role based in Burnaby, BC, responsible for providing safe, effective, and patient-centered pharmacy services. Day-to-day responsibilities include dispensing prescriptions accurately, verifying therapeutic appropriateness, and providing medication counselling and health advice to patients. The Pharmacist will collaborate with pharmacy assistants and other team members to manage workflow, maintain inventory, and ensure compliance with regulatory and company standards. The role also involves administering vaccinations, performing medication reviews, and supporting health promotion initiatives within the store. The Pharmacist will contribute to a positive, inclusive environment focused on quality care, customer service, and continuous improvement. Our store will also feature a brand new care clinic allowing pharmacists to practice within the full extent of their scope.
Qualifications
- Professional pharmacy credentials, including a Bachelor of Pharmacy or PharmD and current licensure (or eligibility for licensure) with the provincial regulatory authority in British Columbia.
- Strong clinical pharmacy skills, including prescription verification, drug utilization review, medication therapy management, and patient counselling.
- Knowledge of relevant pharmacy regulations, standards of practice, and guidelines related to dispensing, record-keeping, privacy, and controlled substances.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain complex information clearly and build rapport with diverse patients and colleagues.
- Passionate about practicing to the full extent of scope and willingness to fully participate in clinical services (e.g. medication reviews, injections, minor ailment prescribing, point of care testing, etc.)
- Demonstrated attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy.
- Commitment to customer service, health promotion, and collaborative teamwork, including mentoring and supporting pharmacy assistants and other staff.
- Flexibility to work days, evenings, weekends, and statutory holidays as needed.
- Experience in community or retail pharmacy is an asset
- Proficiency with HealthWatch is an asset.
