Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Pharmacist role based at Dr. Mohan’s Diabetes Specialities Centre in Siliguri. The Pharmacist will dispense prescribed medications accurately, provide clear counseling on dosage, side effects, and interactions, and guide patients on proper use of diabetes-related medicines and devices. The role includes maintaining pharmacy inventory, checking expiry dates, and ensuring safe storage and handling of medications. The Pharmacist will collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to support treatment plans, verify prescriptions, and help prevent medication errors. Daily responsibilities also involve maintaining records, complying with regulatory standards, and contributing to patient education initiatives related to medication adherence and diabetes management.
Qualifications
- Professional pharmacy qualification such as D.Pharm or B.Pharm from a recognized institution; valid pharmacist registration/license as per local regulations.
- Strong knowledge of pharmacology, medication dosage, drug interactions, and contraindications, especially in diabetes and related comorbidities.
- Ability to dispense medications accurately, maintain detailed records, and follow standard operating procedures and regulatory guidelines.
- Effective communication and counseling skills to explain prescriptions, educate patients on medication adherence, and provide clear instructions in a supportive manner.
- Experience working in a hospital or clinic pharmacy setting is preferred; prior exposure to diabetes care or chronic disease management is an advantage.
- Attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to manage inventory, stock rotation, and documentation efficiently.
- Comfort working with basic computer systems or pharmacy software for billing, inventory, and electronic medical records.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team, demonstrate professional ethics, and maintain patient confidentiality at all times.
Key Responsibilities
1. Pharmacy Billing Operations
- Handle pharmacy billing for both Outpatient (OP) and pharmacy sales transactions.
- Ensure accurate billing, invoice generation, and cash collection.
- Verify prescriptions and maintain billing records as per company standards.
2. Reports and Tally Process
- Generate daily, weekly, and monthly pharmacy reports.
- Reconcile sales, purchases, and stock reports with Tally records.
- Coordinate with the accounts team for accurate financial reporting.
3. Procurement and Purchase Order Management
- Prepare and process Purchase Orders (PO) based on stock requirements.
- Coordinate with vendors and procurement teams for timely supply of medicines and consumables.
- Monitor pending purchase orders and follow up for deliveries.
4. Goods Receipt Note (GRN) Process
- Verify received materials against purchase orders and invoices.
- Complete GRN entries accurately in the system.
- Ensure proper documentation and stock updation after receipt of goods.
5. VHD Format Maintenance
- Prepare and maintain VHD reports as per organizational requirements.
- Ensure timely submission and accuracy of data.
6. Near-Expiry Medicine Management
- Monitor expiry dates of medicines regularly.
- Prepare near-expiry stock reports and take necessary action for liquidation or return.
- Ensure compliance with inventory management policies.
7. Pharmacy Conversion Monitoring
- Track prescription-to-sales conversion rates.
- Ensure effective customer service and medicine availability to improve conversion percentages.
- Analyze conversion performance and implement improvement measures.
8. DFM Calls (Due for Medicines)
- Conduct follow-up calls to customers for due medicines and refill reminders.
- Maintain records of customer interactions and follow-up activities.
- Support customer retention and medication adherence programs.
9. Bank Deposit Process
- Verify daily cash collections and prepare bank deposit statements.
- Ensure timely deposit of cash collections into designated bank accounts.
- Maintain proper records and reconciliation of deposits.
10. Coin Collection and Updation
- Monitor coin collection balances and daily transactions.
- Maintain accurate records of coin collections and updates.
- Ensure proper accounting and reconciliation of coin balances.
11. Inventory and Compliance Management
- Maintain optimum stock levels and prevent stock shortages.
- Conduct regular stock audits and inventory verification.
- Ensure compliance with pharmacy regulations, SOPs, and company policies.
12. Customer Service and Team Coordination
- Provide professional pharmaceutical guidance to customers.
- Coordinate with doctors, branch staff, and management for smooth branch operations.
- Support branch performance and achievement of business targets.
