Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Pharmacist role based in Tirunelveli. The Pharmacist will dispense prescription and over-the-counter medications accurately, verify prescriptions, and provide clear counseling on dosage, side effects, interactions, and proper use. The role includes maintaining pharmacy inventory, checking expiry dates, ensuring proper storage, and supporting stock replenishment and ordering. The Pharmacist will adhere to regulatory and company standards, uphold patient safety and confidentiality, and support quality assurance processes. The role also involves coordinating with healthcare providers, assisting customers with product selection, and maintaining accurate documentation and billing records.
Qualifications
- Relevant pharmacy qualification (e.g., D.Pharm or B.Pharm) from a recognized institution and valid registration with the appropriate Pharmacy Council.
- Strong knowledge of pharmacology, drug interactions, dosage forms, and prescription interpretation, with attention to safety and accuracy.
- Ability to provide patient-centric counseling, clear communication, and guidance on medication adherence and basic health queries.
- Familiarity with pharmacy management systems, billing software, and standard operating procedures for dispensing and inventory control.
- Demonstrated commitment to ethical practice, regulatory compliance, and maintaining patient confidentiality and data protection.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced retail healthcare environment, manage priorities, and collaborate effectively with team members and healthcare professionals.
- Prior experience in a retail or hospital pharmacy setting is an advantage; knowledge of local language(s) and customer service practices is beneficial.
