The Clinical Lead Nurse is part of a Clinical Lead team that supports the health and safety of the residents and health and wellness team. The Clinical Lead Nurse is responsible for supporting the managing the overall nursing program for the residents. He or she is responsible to ensure that the service plans and care staffing reflect and meet the resident’s needs. The Clinical Lead Nurse assures that the highest degree of quality resident care can be maintained at all times. The Clinical Lead Nurse is responsible for administration of the management of the human, financial, and material resources required to meet the resident care. He/she is challenged to identify and respond to residents' on-going normal aging changes, chronic conditions, as well as acute problems as they arise.

Job Duties
- Provide leadership and management to the resident care staff.
- Ensure quality assurance, regulatory compliance, coordination of residents’ health and wellness needs, medication program management and resident assessments.
- Is responsible for recruiting, hiring and training of the resident care team.
- Monitor the job performance of staff members.
- Develop appropriate schedules to ensure that resident care is managed according to work flow.
- Arrange for full assessments or comprehensive assessments according to need.
- Oversee tracking forms, such as discharge tracking, re-entry.
- Study any significant changes in assessment results.
- Attend lead discussions and seminars and record resident care plans.
- Conduct associate performance evaluations, and coach/counsel associates.
- Monitor staff in the administration of medication.
- Observe residents' health status, taking actions to address concerns, and reporting all significant changes.
- Provide direct supervision of resident care staff.
- Maintain complete and accurate medical records in compliance with provincial regulations and health policies.
- Coordinate and follow up with physicians, home health agencies, hospice, laboratories, diagnostic imaging, pharmacy and other services as necessary.
- Coordinate resident admission and discharge processes.
- Oversee and maintain the quality improvement program.
- Maintain positive communication with the families and/or responsible parties of residents on a regular basis to keep them aware and informed of the status of their family member.
- Oversee medication management including staff orientation to medication management and the on-going monitoring of the staff’s competency.
- Is responsible for the evaluation of the appropriateness of new admissions and continued stays.
Requirements
- Valid CRNA registration (RN)
- 2 years of management experience preferred
- Current CPR Certification.
- Knowledgeable regarding the nursing process and its application, including the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of nursing care.
- Demonstrated ability to assist patients, family members or other clients with concern and empathy; respecting their confidentiality and privacy and communicating in a courteous and respectful manner.
- A well-defined sense of diplomacy, including solid negotiation, conflict resolution, and people management skills.
- High degree of resourcefulness, flexibility, and adaptability.
- Able to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing.
- Be politically and culturally sensitive.
- High level of critical and logical thinking, analysis, and/or reasoning to identify underlying principles, reasons, or facts.
- Strong morals and ethics, along with a commitment to staff privacy.
- Must be able to cover any shift if need arises, do weekly and monthly reports, schedules etc.
- Knowledge of computer applications is required.

Job Types: Full-time, Fixed term contract
Pay: $75,000.00-$90,000.00 per year
