We are seeking a skilled and motivated Practice Nurse to join our well-established and busy rural practice in East Galway.
This role is ideally suited to a nurse who is confident working independently, enjoys continuity of care, and takes pride in delivering high-quality, patient-centred general practice.
We are a friendly, supportive team consisting of 2 GP's and 2 experienced administrative staff, serving a loyal and appreciative patient population.
Key Responsibilities
- Phlebotomy and venesection
- ECG and 24-hour blood pressure monitoring (ABPM)
- Chronic Disease Management (CDM), including structured reviews (diabetes, COPD, cardiovascular disease)
- Cervical screening (smear taking)
- Childhood and adult immunisations
- Wound care, dressings, and suture removal
- Ear irrigation
- Stock control and vaccine management
- Assisting in maintaining clinical standards and infection control
About You
- Registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland
- Previous experience in general practice or primary care is highly desirable
- Confident in managing clinics independently and prioritising workload
- Strong communication skills and a patient-focused approach
- Organised, reliable, and adaptable in a busy environment
- Comfortable with IT systems and clinical documentation
