Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and technically proficient Lab Technician to join our diagnostic team. This role is ideal for a dedicated professional who excels in a fast-paced clinical environment and is committed to maintaining the highest standards of laboratory precision. You will be responsible for the end-to-end processing of clinical specimens, ensuring that every result we deliver is accurate and reliable.

Key Responsibilities

Sample Processing: Collect, receive, and label clinical specimens (blood, urine, tissue, etc.) according to strict safety and identification protocols.
Technical Testing: Perform routine and specialized diagnostic tests across departments such as Biochemistry, Hematology, Microbiology, and Clinical Pathology.
Equipment Maintenance: Operate and calibrate automated analyzers and laboratory equipment; troubleshoot technical issues to ensure zero downtime.
Quality Control: Adhere to internal and external quality assurance programs to maintain the integrity of test results and laboratory standards.
Data Management: Accurately record and validate test findings in the Laboratory Information System (LIS) for timely reporting to clinicians.
Safety Compliance: Maintain a clean and organized workstation while strictly following Bio-medical Waste (BMW) management and safety guidelines.

Requirements

Education: Diploma (DMLT) or Bachelor’s degree (B.Sc. MLT) in Medical Laboratory Technology from a recognized institution.
Experience: 1–3 years of hands-on experience in a diagnostic laboratory or hospital setting. Freshers with strong internship records may be considered.
Technical Skills: Proficiency in phlebotomy, manual testing techniques, and operating fully automated biochemistry/hematology analyzers.
Communication: Fluency in Tamil and basic English to interact effectively with patients and clinical staff.
Attention to Detail: Exceptional precision in handling samples and recording data to prevent pre-analytical and analytical errors.
Availability: Willingness to work in shifts as per the laboratory’s operational requirements.
