Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Periodontist role based in Mumbai. The Periodontist will diagnose and treat periodontal diseases, perform procedures such as scaling and root planing, periodontal surgeries, and regenerative therapies, and collaborate with other dental specialists for comprehensive treatment planning. Daily responsibilities include evaluating patients’ periodontal status, reviewing radiographs and medical histories, providing patient education on oral hygiene and preventive care, and documenting treatment plans and progress notes accurately. The role also involves coordinating with the clinical team to ensure high standards of infection control, adherence to protocols, and timely follow-up care. The Periodontist is expected to maintain a professional, respectful chairside manner and contribute to a positive patient experience.
Qualifications
- Recognized Bachelor’s degree in Dental Surgery (BDS) and Master’s degree or specialization in Periodontology (MDS or equivalent), with valid dental registration/license.
- Strong clinical skills in diagnosis and management of periodontal diseases, including non-surgical and surgical periodontal therapies.
- Proficiency in minor oral surgical procedures related to periodontics, including flap surgeries, crown lengthening, and regenerative procedures.
- Ability to interpret radiographs and other diagnostic tests to develop evidence-based treatment plans.
- Solid knowledge of infection control, sterilization protocols, and clinical safety standards.
- Effective communication and counseling skills to explain treatment options, risks, and post-operative care to patients in a clear, empathetic manner.
- Strong teamwork and collaboration skills to work with orthodontists, prosthodontists, general dentists, and clinical support staff.
- Comfort with using digital dental technologies and practice management systems; openness to learning new clinical techniques and tools.
- Ability to manage time efficiently, handle multiple cases in a busy clinical environment, and maintain accurate, detailed clinical records.
- Previous experience as a Periodontist in a clinical or hospital setting is preferred; recent graduates with strong clinical training may also be considered.
