Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Registered Pharmacist role based in Kolkata. The Registered Pharmacist will be responsible for accurately dispensing medications, verifying prescriptions, and ensuring compliance with all applicable pharmacy laws and regulations. Daily work includes counseling customers on proper medication use, potential side effects, and storage requirements, while maintaining clear and accurate patient records. The role involves managing inventory, checking expiry dates, organizing stock, and coordinating with suppliers to ensure medication availability. The pharmacist will collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals when needed, uphold high standards of safety and confidentiality, and support routine audits and quality checks in the pharmacy.
Qualifications
- Valid registration as a Pharmacist with the appropriate state pharmacy council and compliance with all licensing requirements.
- Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Pharmacy (B.Pharm or D.Pharm) from a recognized institution; advanced certifications in clinical or community pharmacy are an advantage.
- Strong knowledge of pharmaceuticals, drug interactions, dosage calculations, and prescription verification processes.
- Proficiency in using pharmacy management systems, basic computer applications, and digital record-keeping tools.
- Excellent customer service, communication, and counseling skills, with the ability to explain medical information in clear, simple language.
- High attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to manage inventory and documentation accurately.
- Ability to stand for extended periods, work in a fast-paced retail or clinical environment, and handle multiple tasks safely and efficiently.
- Prior experience in a retail, hospital, or community pharmacy setting is preferred; familiarity with local regulations and standards in India is beneficial.
