Role Description The Retail Pharmacist will be responsible for dispensing prescription and over-the-counter medications accurately, verifying prescriptions, and ensuring compliance with all relevant pharmacy regulations and standards. Day-to-day tasks include reviewing prescriptions for appropriateness, maintaining proper storage of medications, managing inventory, monitoring expiry dates, and handling procurement as needed. The role involves counseling customers on medication usage, dosage, side effects, and interactions, as well as providing guidance on general health and wellness products. The Retail Pharmacist will also manage billing, documentation, and record-keeping, and collaborate with other staff to maintain a clean, safe, and efficient pharmacy environment. This is a full-time, on-site role based in Mira Bhayandar.
Qualifications
- Valid Maharashtra State Pharmacy Council license and eligibility to practice as a Retail Pharmacist.
- Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy (D.Pharm or B.Pharm) from a recognized institution.
- Strong knowledge of prescription processing, dosage calculations, and drug interactions.
- Ability to provide clear, empathetic medication counseling and customer service.
- Familiarity with pharmacy inventory management, billing systems, and basic record-keeping.
- Attention to detail, adherence to safety and regulatory standards, and strong ethical judgment.
- Ability to work on-site full time, including weekends, evenings, or shifts as required.
- Prior experience in a retail pharmacy setting in Maharashtra is an advantage.
- Comfortable working with digital tools or pharmacy management software for billing and stock tracking.
- Ability to communicate effectively in English, Hindi, and/or Marathi to support diverse customers.
