About the function
The Good & Green (G&G) team drives GIG’s commitment of placing planet and people alongside profit. The team is responsible for designing, driving and achieving the Godrej Industries Group’s sustainability and social impact vision, covering Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG), Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and Workers’ Wellbeing. The function works closely with leadership across all our Group companies and cross-functional teams such as manufacturing, supply chain, R&D, HR, Investor Relations, DEI, Legal, Finance, Corporate Affairs, Audit and Corporate Communications, to create and deliver impactful environmental and social programmes.

About the role
As a Good and Green Manager, you will lead CSR programs across our thematic areas of water, public health, environment, waste management and community impact for our Godrej Consumer Products business. Your responsibilities will include strategy, design, implementation, monitoring and impact assessment of all ongoing and new programs.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategy & Governance
- Support the development and implementation of GCPL Strategy aligned with Good & Green priorities and business ESG roadmaps
- Design business-specific CSR roadmap that address diverse needs such as environment, livelihoods, gender equity, health, and education, among others
- Ensure alignment with Schedule VII of the Companies Act, UN SDGs, Godrej’s sustainability framework and other requirements
- Strengthen and support CSR governance structures — policy implementation, board reporting, and compliance oversight
- Support integration of CSR insights into GCPL and Group-wide sustainability and brand narratives.
Program management:
- Program Design: Strategize, build and roll out new programmes including flagship programs that deliver social impact while aligning with core business capabilities; embed innovation and technology in program design to drive efficiency and transparency; build strong monitoring and evaluation frameworks for the program and develop key performance indicators
- Program Monitoring and Reporting: Ensure yearly outcome and impact targets are met within pre-defined budgets; conduct needs assessments, and impact assessments as required; ensure all CSR programs are reported on the MIS platform and update relevant dashboards; review and oversee all program activities in various locations, measure their performance on weekly, monthly and quarterly basis and document the findings; travel regularly to various locations to oversee project implementation, develop professional relationships with the external stakeholders, and support them in showcasing program outcomes to the public.
- NGO Relationship Management: Build new relationships and manage relationships with existing partners; support in forging strategic partnerships with select NGOs
- External Stakeholder Relationship Management: Build new relationships and manage existing partnerships across stakeholder groups (government, social enterprises, like-minded corporates); support in forging strategic partnerships with select foundations, academia, and government institutions
- Internal Stakeholder Relationship Management: Consult with and influence key internal stakeholders to gain input and buy-in; work closely with colleagues across functions to communicate impact and progress
- Continuously learn from and adapt to changes in the external environment
Compliance, Reporting & Communication
- Ensure compliance with statutory CSR regulations and utilization of mandated budgets
- Enable the preparation of the Annual CSR Report, statutory disclosures (like BRSR, CSR form 2 and other ESG-related disclosures), and updates for the CSR Committee and any other updates and reports as needed by leadership
- Collaborate with Corporate Communications to amplify storytelling and impact communication through digital, print, and media channels.
- Showcase milestones through internal campaigns, leadership dialogues, and Good & Green Week celebrations.
Innovation & Thought Leadership
- Enable positioning Godrej Industries Group and GCPL as a thought leader in inclusive and sustainable development
- Support in publishing case studies, research papers, and impact stories to highlight CSR innovation and outcomes
- Enable building collaborations with think tanks, academia, and global foundations to influence broader CSR and ESG discourse
- Build the capacity of internal teams; support relevant internal stakeholders with learning opportunities
Who are we looking for?
Education:
- Master’s degree in Social Work, Development Studies, or Business Management
Experience:
- 8 - 10 years of relevant experience (post-graduation)
Skills:
- Ability to connect CSR strategy to business purpose and national priorities.
- Ability to effectively design and manage large-scale projects across geographies
- Demonstrated expertise in designing, implementing and monitoring health; employability/skills development, environment conservation, and rural development programs in India, working with non-profits, government, and other relevant stakeholders
- Financial acumen in CSR budgeting, fund allocation, and governance
- Proficiency with data analytics, dashboards, and impact reporting tools
- Excellent stakeholder management and engagement skills, with strong spoken and written communication abilities (including proficiency in Microsoft Office products), ability to engage senior stakeholders
- Collaborative with the ability to work with teams of individuals across levels, functions, and businesses
- Self-motivated, reflective, creative thinker with a passion for being at the centre of change
- Strong problem-solving skills, agility, and speed
- Ability to demonstrate ownership, and work in a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment as part of a closely-knit team, showcasing patience, tenacity and grace under pressure
